BIO

Rønnaug Harnes is a Norwegian photographer with roots by the open sea – she grew up on Harøy on the west coast of Norway and now lives in Oslo. After many years working as a lawyer, holding demanding positions in various ministries, she has chosen to leave that part of her life behind. She now devotes much of her time to photography.
Rønnaug has participated in numerous courses and workshops, including with photographer Morten Krogvold, and has developed a visual language that does not seek the grandiose – but the honest. She allows her subjects to breathe, creating space for reflection – both for herself and the viewer.
With her family as a steady anchor, and Harøy still a vital part of her life, she moves between city and coast, between people and nature – and between the external and internal landscapes she seeks to capture with her camera in a meditative way.
